![]() ![]() “We're expecting to be in Early Access until the end of 2024. ![]() Once we’ve delivered our plans, we can officially leave Early Access.”Īpproximately how long will this game be in Early Access? The most valuable reason is that we found it very constructive to develop our studio’s original title, ARK: Survival Evolved, in tandem with the community’s continual feedback, and seeing as ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) will have its own set of gameplay features, we wanted to have the opportunity to do the same with the wisdom of the many.ĪSA is also being developed on the latest version of Unreal Engine 5 much like ARK: SE at the time of its development early in its engine’s lifecycle, there’s a lot of new tech and systems being explored in innovative ways, and we’ll need to ensure that we’ve worked through all the kinks.įinally, ASA has its own unique content roadmap in addition to the remade expansion pack content, which gives us an opportunity to develop closely with the Community. I highly recommend Boot Camp + Windows for Mac and dual-boot/GRUB + Windows for Linux because of this if you want to play normally on official or unofficial servers.“We've decided to use the Early Access model for multiple reasons. If you run your own server, you can control the versioning so that it remains outdated and you can still play on it along with other Mac/Linux users who are using outdated clients, otherwise, there's no good reason to play this game besides either SP or on Windows, because these lags in the updates for the Mac/Linux builds are common and happen every month or so. Then a few weeks later, they'll put out another series of server/Windows patches that breaks the Mac/Linux compatibility again and this cycle continues. They don't put out updates for Mac and Linux (and the XBox/Win10 and PS4 versions) until the current development build on Windows is stable. But the version that the servers and Windows are on are currently in development and are newer.Īs said above, this is normal. You have the latest version that's been released for Mac. Seems like Arc is more interested in features than bugs. Originally posted by bradleybacon:Yeah, I have the latest version and it didn't make a dikholeadifference. ![]()
